Biography
Emily Paxton is a Freelance Photographer and photography teacher currently based in Brighton, UK. This website invites you to explore her discerning visual diary of events, global travels and daily encounters of objects, people and places that have taken place over the last ten years.
Carefully edited from this body of work, Emily’s portfolio has been assorted into genres depicting a fascinating mix of vibrant and serious narratives from portraits of local and international musicians to abstract observations of beauty in the everyday environment.
These images can be said to transfer into poetic narratives weaving throughout Emily’s life offering the viewer an eclectic, unique and ultimately individual visual biography
Emily’s first taste of photography began whilst studying for her A-Levels and has since studied at The London College of Printing (LCP) (2000-2003) where she completed a BA Photography.
Over the past two years Emily has completed a PGCE qualification to teach Photography and has traveled the world to broaden her skills and develop her portfolio. Today, Emily teaches Photography and Digital Art to a range of photography students in the Sussex area and hopes to exhibit wihtin the Brighton Photo Biannual in October 2010.
A collection from the ’structure’ series will be on display at the Brighton and Hove Camera Club (BHCC) from 12th – 26th January 2010 before finding an alternative gallery space. Emily is also actively seeking space to exhibit within an open house for the Brighton Festival in May.
